about the seed clinic
the seed clinic helps women harness the power of nutrition for fertility, pregnancy & postpartum, thereby supporting them to get pregnant and have healthier outcomes for them and their babies.
There is a wealth of reliable evidence from scientific research that shows nutrition can positively influence pre and postnatal health. But advice about how food, supplements and self care can be used as a tool is not reaching the women who need it. The seed clinic is on a mission to close this gap.
The first 1,000 days are a critical period of child development, referring to the time from preconception through to around two years of age. During this period, humans grow and develop both physically and emotionally at a faster rate than any other time in their life. Nutrition has a major role to play in brain development, genetic programming and improving long term health for the mother and her baby.
The seed clinic’s goal is to help everyone hoping to start a family feel knowledgeable about nutrition, in control, empowered and confident. Private consultations are provided by Registered Dietitian, perinatal nutritionist & creator of the seed clinic, Ella Pomfret.

Why work with a dietitian?
Dietitians appraise public health and scientific research on food and translate this into practical dietary interventions, nutritional supplement recommendations and holistic lifestyle advice. They work in the NHS, private practice, industry, education, research, sport, media, public relations, publishing, government, NGOs and more. All dietitians have completed a BSc Hons or postgraduate qualification in Dietetics, which requires a period of supervised clinical practice in an NHS setting.
Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals regulated by law, governed by an ethical code and qualified to provide special diets for medical conditions. The titles “Dietitian” or “Registered Dietitian” can only be used by those who are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council which also regulate other professions with protected titles, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and paramedics and others.
